Jerry Angelo liked Matt Forte enough to make him the 44th overall pick in the 2008 NFL Draft.
Six years later, the former Bears general manager is still a big fan of Forte.
Angelo on Bears' WRs: "When you talk about receiving corps, don't forget about Forte. ...Forte is the most talented back in the NFL.— David Haugh (@DavidHaugh) June 4, 2014
Some might consider Angelo's statement — which came Wednesday on Kap & Haugh on 87 7 The Game — a bold one, but it's certainly not without supporting evidence.
In six seasons, Forte is a two-time Pro Bowler. Last season, he ranked second in the league in rushing yards with 1,339. He's totaled 9,585 yards from scrimmage in his career.
Angelo arrived at his statement while discussing the Bears' receiving corps, and he made sure Forte was included in that group, as the running back has shown a unique talent for pass-catching to go along with his rushing skills. Forte was third among NFL running backs a season ago with 74 receptions.
So do you agree with the former GM? Is Forte the NFL's most talented running back?
