Kyle Long tweets ‘good riddance' after Bears release Ray McDonald

Social media was abuzz in the wake of Ray McDonald's domestic violence arrest on Monday.

And after the Bears announced they'd released McDonald on Monday afternoon, one of the team's most prominent players took to Twitter to express his opinion in a simple two-word tweet:

It's a strong opinion from Long, and many on social media praised that opinion Monday afternoon.

McDonald was arrested on charges of misdemeanor domestic violence and child endangerment. The arrest report said McDonald assaulted a woman while she was holding a baby.

The Bears signed McDonald in March, a controversial move at the time considering McDonald was cut by the 49ers in December after prior legal troubles. He was arrested for domestic violence in August and named a suspect in a sexual assault investigation in December, which prompted his release. He was not formally charged in either situation.

While it can hardly be gleaned from a two-word tweet, it would seem within reason to wonder if Long had similar feelings when the Bears signed McDonald earlier this offseason.
