He's not playing. He's playing. He's not playing. We'll just have to wait until Sunday to see if Jay Cutler suits up against Detroit at Soldier Field.

Despite Josh McCown's impressive performance on Monday, Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is actually hoping for No. 6 to be the starter this Sunday.

"I love playing against Cutler; he’s a tough guy," Suh told the Detroit News Wednesday. "No discredit to McCown, but I want their best shot. Whichever quarterback is healthier and is going to give them their best opportunity, that’s who I want to go against. I want to beat the best, no matter what, every single week."

Cutler was expected to miss a minimum of four weeks after injuring his groin in Week 7 against the Redskins, but reports said that he would be ready for Sunday's game.

However, Cutler quickly dismissed those reports on ESPN 1000's The Jay Cutler Show on Tuesday and said there's no guarantee he'll play on Sunday.

Suh admitted to watching the Monday Night Football game featuring the Bears and Packers, and was impressed with McCown.

"He’s just a guy that understands what’s going on and what he has to get done," Suh said. "I don’t think he has a lot of pressure underneath him to make plays, which allows him to play a little bit more freely.

"He doesn’t try to force things. I’m not saying Cutler does, but he’s a guy that’s known to want to make big plays and have big things down the field. I think McCown just plays within their scheme and really just takes his shots when he sees the opportunity."

The Lions have the potential to bypass Cutler (on Sunday) and Aaron Rodgers (on Thanksgiving day), who could miss three weeks with a shoulder injury. But again, Suh would like to see them both play.

"I like going against Aaron Rodgers and I like going against Cutler," he said. "I wish them the best and speedy recoveries so they can come back and we can go against them — and take them down."
