Well, at last some movement in the labor impasse between owners and players...
Robbie Gould, player rep for the group formerly known as the NFLPA, made a cameo appearance to Halas Hall early Monday morning, perhaps to celebrate Judge Susan Nelsons ruling in Minneapolis granting an injunction to end the owners lockout. Robbie has been an outspoken advocate for his fellow players and tweeted Lockout lifted locker room and weight room closed.
But if there is still some acrimony big-picture, it wasnt hostile among Bears family members.
I was basically told they were waiting for clarification on Judge Nelsons decision, Robbie said. I was allowed to walk through the building but the locker room was locked.
Everyone was nice. Everyone was cordial. It was just that you werent allowed to work out.
Izzy Idonije also put in an appearance, although he also left after a short stay. The Bears present their veteran and rookie winners of the prestigious Brian Piccolo Award on Tuesday, with tackle JMarcus Webb expected to be the rookie winner and Idonije, a finalist for the Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year and winner of the March of Dimes Chicago Bear of the Year awards, taking the veteran award.
