Rex Grossman and Johnny Manziel: finally together.
Maybe you weren't pining for the former Bears QB and the man known as "Johnny Football" to be on the same roster, but just in case you were, your dreams have come true:
Rex Grossman has signed with the Browns, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus.— ProFootballTalk (@ProFootballTalk) August 12, 2014
Grossman likely won't factor in the position battle going on between Manziel and Brian Hoyer for the starting quarterback job, but he could provide a serviceable veteran further on down the depth chart. Rookie quarterback Connor Shaw is also on the team's roster.
Grossman last appeared for the Bears in 2008, two years after he quarterbacked the team in its Super Bowl appearance. He finished his six-season Bears career with a 54.2 completion percentage, 6,164 yards and 33 touchdowns to go along with 35 interceptions.
Grossman played in one game for the Texans in 2009 before spending the past four seasons in Washington, where he played in 17 total games including 13 starts in 2011. He hasn't played in either of the past two seasons.
