The roster:

Starters: Matt Forte, Tony Fiammetta

Depth: Ka’Deem Carey, Shaun Draughn, Senorise Perry

The cuts: Jordan Lynch

The thinking: Carey started camp slowly, struggling with pass protection, but improved almost daily with effort and attention to technique. Gradually he moved up the depth chart past Draughn, who offered little on special teams and was not as much of a change of pace from Forte as Carey is, while Perry produced a spot of flash returning kickoffs.

Lynch was attempting to gain entry to the NFL via a position change, but the reality was that he does not pass well enough to be an NFL quarterback, nor run well enough to be an NFL running back. And he was not an impact member of special teams.

Whether the Bears stay with four running backs in addition to fullback Tony Fiammetta, who has been down with a hamstring injury, remains to be seen.
