Sick bay: McClellin still not able to practice
The Bears’ thin situation in the defense’s front will be significantly improved over the span of the next several weeks. Unfortunately not right away.
Defensive end Shea McClellin did not practice on Wednesday, working with trainers to rehab his injured hamstring. Recently signed defensive tackle Jeremiah Ratliff is at practice but still healing from a groin injury. Linebacker Lance Briggs (shoulder) already has been ruled out of the Baltimore game next Sunday.

McClellin’s condition will be evaluated again on Thursday, a week after he strained his leg in a drill during practice. "I know he wants to get out there,” said coach Marc Trestman. “If he's out on the practice field getting some work in, that will be a good sign."
Long snapper Pat Mannelly also did not practice, with Jeremy Cain expected to handle those duties again against the Ravens.
Baltimore was without three starters at Wednesday’s practice: nose tackle Haloti Ngata (knee), linebacker Darryl Smith (thigh) and cornerback Ladarius Webb (groin).
