Baltimore committed hard and consistently to the run game (41 attempts), forcing the secondary to be physical in run support, and the pass defense allowed no pass completion longer than 17 yards.

Tim Jennings’ pass breakup on Baltimore’s third-down conversion attempt on the first overtime possession was a stellar effort with nothing less than the game on the line. Coverage overall allowed Joe Flacco to complete just 17 of 31 passes, his second-fewest completions of the season.

Baltimore went extensively with nickel personnel through the first quarter, putting Isaiah Frey on the field a lot with Baltimore running the ball 12 times and throwing just nine early. Frey continues to show up on plays and is looking a lot like a possible replacement for Charles Tillman if the veteran does not return in 2014.

Chris Conte was flagged for pass interference in the end zone on Baltimore’s first possession. Zack Bowman followed that with one on the second possession and committed a second on Baltimore’s touchdown pass to Torrey Smith in the second quarter. But Bowman and Conte also contributed tackles for loss.
