Tim Jennings was matched up on Dallas wideout Dez Bryant and was beaten for Dallas’ first touchdown on a precise throw from Tony Romo covering two yards. Major Wright appeared to lose tight end Jason Witten for a 10-yard TD pass in the second quarter.

Romo netted just 104 passing yards on 11-for-20 passing and the Cowboys converted five of 10 third downs. But reasons for the low passing totals were the Bears getting out to substantial leads and Dallas’ ability to run the ball.

“There was just a little in the passing game because they had some good runs,” Jennings said. “They were still gashing us in the runs and once we had them in certain situations where they had to pass the ball, the coaches were dialing up some good defenses to put us in the right defense to pressure them a little bit, make them force some throws.”

Zackary Bowman had the only pass breakup on the stat sheet while he and Chris Conte tied for team high with eight tackles. Bowman’s deflection ended a second-quarter Dallas possession in the Cowboys’ end of the field, after which the Cowboys punted and left the Bears with enough time to go 60 yards for a touchdown just before halftime to put the Bears up 24-14.
