Matt Forte posted another 100-yard day with 87 rushing yards on 16 carries, one a five-yard bull into the end zone for the Bears’ first touchdown.
Forte showed burst and smarts, going 55 yards on a straight-ahead quick-opener, although he was able to total only 32 more yards on his other 15 carries. Forte and Michael Bush averaged 1.8 per carries other than Forte’s 55-yarder.

Forte also was pressed into pass protection and did a serviceable job picking up blitzers in the always-complicated Pittsburgh Steelers fronts. He caught all four of the balls Jay Cutler directed to him, none for more than 11 yards, but made good use of the field underneath, working free as a check-down option for Cutler.
Michael Bush was inserted on several short-yardage situations but did not register significant impact, with nine total yards on eight carries. The positive: Bush scored on a one-yard dive at a fourth-and-one after failing to get into the end zone on his first two tries.

“[The Steelers] had the crowd behind them, the momentum was going,” Bush said. “They’re a good team defensively.”
