The best-performing group of Bears on any side of the football Sunday in Detroit.
Alshon Jeffery gave the Bears an enormous emotional lift with a 17-yard end-around that was followed immediately by Matt Forte’s 53-yard TD run. He also made a 44-yard catch against coverage in the third quarter to set up a field goal.
Jeffery finished with five catches of the 11 throws aimed at him. He caught a 14-yarder for a touchdown and added a reception for a two-point conversion.
“I made some good plays, but at the end of the day, it doesn’t matter,” Jeffery said. “All I’m concerned about is the ‘W.’ I’m not worrying about what I did. It’s a team sport.”
Brandon Marshall caught seven passes for 79 total yards and also caught a two-point conversion. Marshall and Jeffery also provided outstanding blocking for the run game.
Tight end Martellus Bennett became the fourth different Bear to lead in receptions in four games, with eight catches for 90 yards. Earl Bennett caught his second touchdown of the year on a 10-yard toss from Jay Cutler.
