Week 7 Bears grades: Running back

His overall numbers were not spectacular but Matt Forte’s three touchdowns marked the first time a Bears running back has had three ground scores since Rashaan Salaam in his 1995 rookie season. Forte netted 91 yards on 16 carries with a long of 50 yards for his second score.

Michael Bush did not play and Tony Fiammetta was used sparingly as the offense had little chance to use a fullback much of the game.

Forte has produced 90 or more total yards in all seven games this season. He added two pass receptions for 18 yards but the number didn’t add up to anything meaningful for him.

“It doesn’t matter to me,” Forte said. “We lost the game. It doesn’t matter if I have 1,000 yards. If we lose, I didn’t do enough to win.”
