Zack Martin (OL), Notre Dame

6'4" | 308 lbs.

1st round, 16th overall (Dallas Cowboys)

What scouts are saying:

"Can make a good tackle but an outstanding guard. Wide base can be troublesome against agile edge rushers who weave inside and out." (Josh Norris, Rotoworld)

"Played well against Alabama in the BCS Championship and was MVP of the Pinstripe Bowl. Sparkling intangibles. Highly respected, hardworking leader who does all the right things." (Nolan Narwocki,

"He also shows better athleticism than you might think when blocking on the move, demonstrating above average straight-line speed to get to the second level, as well as the nastiness to bury his target into the ground." (Rob Rang/Derek Stephens, CBS Sports)

Fit for the Bears:

The Bears are well-set at tackle and guard, so Martin doesn't make much sense for as high as he's projected to be taken. His versatility would work well with any offensive line, but without a need in that unit there's not much of a reason for the Bears to reach for Martin in the first round.
