It turns out former Illini scoring machine Brandon Paul won't be playing in the NBA Summer League after all.
One of Illinois' highest all-time scorers, Paul tweeted out that he injured his shoulder and won't be playing for his hometown Bulls in Las Vegas this summer.
Unfortunately I will not be competing in Summer League. I've been sideline w/a right shoulder injury. I never question the man upstairs...— Brandon Paul (@BP3) July 11, 2014

Paul ended a four-year college career in Champaign as the eight leading scorer in program history. He played in last year's Summer League for the Timberwolves before heading to Russia and then the D-League. He only played in a couple D-League games before an injury ended that run, as well.
Tough luck for the former Fighting Illini and Warren Township High School grad.
