Brady Hoke's tenure as the head football coach at Michigan ended poorly, fired after leading the Wolverines to a 5-7 finish in 2014.
Well, Hoke has a new gig as of Saturday, and it's with another one of college football's premier programs.
Hoke was announced as the new defensive coordinator at Oregon on Saturday, his first coaching job after taking a year off following the end of his stay in Ann Arbor.

"We are extremely excited to welcome coach Hoke to the Oregon family," Oregon head coach Mark Helfrich said in the announcement. "He's passionate, knowledgeable and tough and has an outstanding track record of success from a defensive standpoint."

The job is Hoke's first as a defensive coordinator at the college level. He was the Michigan head coach for four seasons and prior to that served as the head coach at both San Diego State and Ball State for a total of eight seasons. Prior to that, he was the defensive line coach at Michigan.
Hoke went 31-20 in his four seasons helming the Wolverines, turning in three disappointing campaigns after an 11-2 record and Sugar Bowl win in his first year. This past season, first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh led Michigan to 10 wins.
