Rutgers took a lot of flack when it joined the Big Ten for not being a traditional football power.

Well, how 'bout these apples?

Rutgers quarterback Gary Nova connected with Leonte Carroo on this 78-yard touchdown pass on the Scarlet Knights' first-ever play as a Big Ten team.

Not a bad start.

It instantly put Rutgers up in their road game against Washington State. The first quarter also featured not one but two defensive stands inside the Knights' own 10-yard line.

An impressive early showing from Rutgers.
