Nebraska wide receiver Jordan Westerkamp was named the Freshman of the Week after his performance against Northwestern. Westerkamp had a career-high four catches for 104 yards including a 49-yard game-winning hail mary as time expired to defeat the Wildcats 27-24 on Saturday. The game-winning catch was the first touchdown of his collegiate career.

This was also the redshirt freshman's first career weekly award. He is a native of Lombard, Ill. and attended Montini Catholic High School.

The last Husker to earn a Freshman of the Week honor was David Santos in Oct. 29, 2012.
