After the generally positive and optimistic vibes of Big Ten Media Day, the Wildcats got some bad news Monday night.

According to a report from 247Sports' Steve Wiltfong, Andrew and David Dowell — a pair of four-star twins from Ohio — are no longer committed to Northwestern.

The Dowell brothers are two of the top 15 recruits from the state of Ohio in the Class of 2015 and were the two highlights of Northwestern's class for next season, the only four-star recruits in what was an 18-player group. Now that list has been reduced to 16 names, though is still by many accounts considered to be a good one.

Both Andrew (running back) and David (defensive back) committed to the Cats in April and picked Northwestern over Illinois and Indiana, among others, including Vanderbilt, where the report indicates they have recently visited.
