On the same day Northwestern announced running back Venric Mark would be transferring, the Wildcats also lost their top wide receiver.
The school announced Christian Jones would miss the entire 2014 season with a knee injury.
A senior, Jones is eligible for a redshirt, and the school indicated he would be back for the 2015 season.

Jones led the Cats with 668 receiving yards last season. He started all 12 games and caught four touchdown passes. He was sensational in the season finale against Illinois, when he caught 13 passes for 182 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
In the first three seasons of his college career, Jones caught 105 passes for 1,275 yards and six touchdowns.
Tony Jones, Cameron Dickerson, Kyle Prater and Miles Shuler are names that could step in to fill the void.
