Northwestern's Solomon Vault has highlight-reel TD catch overturned

Share

For a couple minutes, Northwestern's Solomon Vault had an entry in the race for Big Ten catch of the year.

But then came a replay review.

Clayton Thorson pitched a deep ball to Vault in the third quarter of Saturday's game against Minnesota, and Vault hauled it in with a jaw-dropping one-handed catch for a Northwestern touchdown.

But was it a catch?

The play was reviewed by officials, who overturned the original ruling, negating the play, the catch and the touchdown.

Take a look and decide for yourself:

So, did the refs get this one right?
