Frank Kaminsky’s huge performance against Michigan figured to earn him some recognition, and indeed it did.
Kaminsky was the Big Ten Co-Player of the Week, sharing the honor with Nebraska guard Terran Petteway, following a couple of strong games last week, chief among them his first career double-double against the Wolverines.
The Wisconsin junior and Lisle native scored 25 points and brought in 11 rebounds in the Badgers’ 75-62 win over the Wolverines on Sunday, the best performance in a huge road win. Earlier in the week, he scored 17 points and hauled in six boards against Minnesota.
It was the second time this season that Kaminsky was named Big Ten Player of the Week.
Petteway, who earned his first weekly honor of the season, scored 23 points in Nebraska’s unbelievable upset of Michigan State on Sunday. He splashed home four 3-pointers in the win, including a few clutch ones. He also scored 16 points against Illinois earlier in the week.
Petteway ranks second in the Big Ten in scoring with 17.7 points per game.
