Nathan Scheelhaase's father, Nathan Creer, may have taken "Fighting Illini" a little too seriously.
Creer was in attendance during his son's game against Michigan State on Saturday at Memorial Stadium when he was involved in an altercation with some fans which led to his arrest. He was later charged with a misdemeanor charge of resisting a police officer. Creer appeared to be intoxicated when the incident occurred, according to the police.
Creer, who was already on probation after being arrested in January for trespassing his ex-girlfriend's property, was released on a $150 bond after.
Scheelhaase completed just 13 of 21 passes throwing for 103 yards and zero touchdowns during the 42-3 blowout loss to the Spartans.
