Maryland has added former Oklahoma State quarterback Daxx Garman to the roster as a fifth-year transfer, the program announced on Thursday.
As a fifth-year transfer, he is eligible to play immediately in 2015 as he pursues a graduate degree at Maryland.
“He is an experienced quarterback who has proven himself as an accomplished starter in the Big 12, helping to lead his team to a postseason bowl game," head coach Randy Edsall said in a statement. "Daxx is an outstanding student who has displayed tremendous poise and maturity during his college career."

Edsall said in the release that Garman will come into camp competing for the starting quarterback job, which prior to his transfer seemed to belong without question to rising senior Caleb Rowe. Rowe, though, missed spring practice as he continues to recover from ACL surgery.
Garman threw for 2,041 yards last season at Oklahoma State, including 12 touchdowns and 12 interceptions. He missed the final three games of the season after suffering a concussion and losing his starting job to then-freshman Mason Rudolph.
