The Terps are coming to DeKalb.
Maryland will become the first Big Ten team to play at Northern Illinois in 2021. The two schools announced a home-and-home series Friday that will also see NIU visit College Park in 2020.
It will be the fourth and fifth meetings all time between the two programs. The Terps have a 2-1 record against NIU in three previous meetings. In 2004, Maryland won, 23-20, while in 2003, NIU was victorious, 20-13, in overtime.

Though the Huskies have made a habit of playing Big Ten teams of late — including a pair of games, both wins, against Iowa and Purdue last season — no Big Ten team has ever paid a visit to DeKalb.
"Huskie fans have been waiting for a Big Ten team to visit Huskie Stadium, and so many have vivid memories of the last time Maryland played here," NIU athletics director Sean Frazier said in that school's release. "That 2003 game really ignited our fan base, and I hope this announcement ... (has) done the same for a new generation of NIU fans."
The Terps also have a home-and-home scheduled with West Virginia for those two seasons.
