Who's got the best legs in the Big Ten?

According to the preseason award watch lists, it's the Michigan State Spartans.

Both kicker Michael Geiger and punter Mike Sadler landed on the watch lists for the Lou Groza Award and the Ray Guy Award, respectively, on Wednesday, the third day of an ongoing parade of watch lists.

Between extra points and field goals, Geiger missed just three kicks last season. As a freshman, he connected on 36-of-38 extra-point attempts and 15-of-16 field-goal attempts. Those 15 made field goals ranked third in the Big Ten, while his 93.8 field-goal percentage was the league's best.

Sadler, if you're going by average length of punt, was the conference's fourth-best punter a year ago. He averaged 42.5 yards per punt, but his 3,233 total punting yards were the most in the Big Ten. Sadler was honored after last season with a presence on both coaches and media All-Big Ten teams.

Other Big Ten names popped up on these lists, too. The Groza watch list also included Maryland's Brad Craddick, and the Guy watch list also included Ohio State's Cameron Johnston and Minnesota's Peter Mortell.

One last note regarding Geiger: If the Michigan State fans don't keep a tally of all his kicks this season and call it "The Geiger Counter," they're missing a great opportunity.
