Nik Stauskas is the Big Ten player of the week. Again.
For the second time in as many weeks, the sophomore Michigan guard was given the conference's top weekly honor, with teammate Derrick Walton also recognized, named the Big Ten freshman of the week.
Awards are what happens when you win three straight games against top-10 opponents and emerge from a rivalry game the conference's top dog. The Wolverines bested No. 10 Iowa and No. 3 Michigan State this past week and remain the only team with a perfect conference record.
Stauskas was huge in those two games, scoring a total of 35 points and shooting an incredible 60 percent from 3-point range. He currently ranks second in the conference with 18.5 points per game and leads the league in 3-point shooting with a 44.8-percent success rate from beyond the arc.
He joins Illinois' Rayvonte Rice and Michigan State's Adreian Payne as the only players to win multiple player of the week honors this season.
Walton, meanwhile, had a career-high 19 points against the Spartans on Saturday. He's also the Big Ten freshman leader in assists. He's the second Michigan freshman to pick up freshman of the week honors this season, joining teammate Zak Irvin.
