King Township Mayor Steve Pellegrini spoke about how proud Carcillo’s hometown is of him, and also about the town’s excitement to see the Cup again.
“I am absolutely thrilled that one of our local boys is part of this amazing victory for a second time,” said Pellegrini in a statement. “Back in 2010 Nick Boynton brought the Stanley Cup to King and now Carcillo is bringing it home again. Chicago Blackhawks Assistant Coach Mike Kitchen is also from Schomberg. King is definitely a hockey town and we look forward to celebrating this historic event.”
Carcillo was scheduled to be at the King City Community Centre and Arena from noon-3pm today. Event attendees had the opportunity to meet Carcillo and take a picture with the Cup.
