Former Blackhawks landing with new teams has been a common occurrence this summer, and it's happened again.
Though he didn't take the ice once for the Blackhawks during their Cup-winning season, Steve Montador was under team control. He spent most of the season dealing with the effects of a concussion before suiting up for 14 games with the Rockford IceHogs in the AHL.
Well, Montador will is now bringing his defensive talents to the KHL, as a Croatian team in that league, Medvescak Zagreb, announced that it signed the former Blackhawk.
Montador came to Chicago in an offseason trade with the Buffalo Sabres in 2011, and he played in 52 games for the Hawks in the 2011-12 season, tallying 14 points.
All in all, Montador has played 10 seasons in the NHL.
