Kyle Beach, who was assigned to the Rockford IceHogs last week, has apparently been loaned to HV71, a Swedish Hockey League club, according to the team’s website.

Beach also announced the news on his Twitter account (@KBeachy12): “It’s official! Couldn’t be more excited to join @HV71 in #Sweden. It’s an honor and a privilege. I will start working on my Swedish! #Tack

According to the story, HV71 is “borrowing” Beach from the IceHogs for three weeks. The Swedish squad is missing two players due to injury — Andreas Jamtin and Johan Johnsson — and it’s unknown when they will be ready to play. Beach’s stay in Sweden, therefore, could turn into a lengthier one.

Beach, the Blackhawks’ first-round (11th overall) selection in the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, played in 66 games with the IceHogs last season, recording 16 goals and 10 assists. He also had 204 penalty minutes.
