Blackhawks forward Andrew Shaw took a puck to the face with 4:01 remaining in the first period of Game 6 of the Stanley Cup Final.
As Bruins forward Shawn Thornton was entering the Blackhawks zone, he attempted to dump the puck in. Shaw appeared to be hit on the right side of his face.
He was helped off the ice and went straight to the dressing room following the incident.
Shaw received stitches and returned to action in the second period. Shaw's cut was opened several times throughout the rest of the game, but he battled through the injury and stayed on the ice. The 21-year old was a plus-1 in 10 minutes of play during the Blackhawks' Stanley Cup-clinching game.
The winger finished with 5 goals and 4 assists in 23 postseason games for the Blackhawks.
