The Blues have the same expectations, but are not entering the playoffs on a high note. St. Louis set a club-record with 52 wins, but it lost six straight to close out the regular season. Prior to that, the Blues had not lost more than two straight games in the regular season all year long.
"It was a very disappointing end to the season," said John Kelly, Blues TV play-by-play broadcaster on Tuesday's SportsTalk Live. "Overall, the expectations all year have been that this is a Stanley Cup contending team. Now, how they recover from this slide and these injuries is the big question."
