Blackhawks: Artemi Panarin (illness) ruled out vs. Sharks

Share

Artemi Panarin is out due to illness and Jiri Sekac will draw into the lineup when the Blackhawks face the San Jose Sharks tonight at the United Center.

Panarin missed this morning's skate but coach Joel Quenneville said the forward "could" play following that session. That turned into a no by the evening, when Panarin did not participate in pregame warmups.

It's the first game Panarin has missed this season.

Teuvo Teravainen slid into Panarin's left-wing spot on the second line with Artem Anisimov and Patrick Kane. Richard Panik moves to the right on the third line, with Andrew Desjardins and Phillip Danault. Sekac, who is playing in just his third game since the Blackhawks acquired him from Anaheim on Jan. 21, will be right wing on the fourth line with Brandon Mashinter and Dennis Rasmussen.
