Brandon Bollig did what he does best on Wednesday: hit people.
In the late stages of the third period, Jets defenseman Adam Pardy went to play a puck along the boards when Bollig flew in and sent Pardy straight through the glass. Literally.
The hit was impressive, but what happened next was even more entertaining. A fan grabbed Pardy's helmet and then placed it on his own head. Moments later, a different fan poured a beer on Pardy, only adding to the frustration for the visiting player.
Below is the Blackhawks' official statement on the incident:
"We have spoken to those involved in the incident with an opposing player late in our home game last night at the United Center. The individuals were immediately ejected from the arena to preserve the safety of everyone in attendance, including other fans, players and officials. We have also been in communication with the Winnipeg Jets and the NHL to convey our organization's apologies."
