This week, the Chicago Blackhawks will hit the ice for the first time since skating around the T.D. Garden in June with Lord Stanley raised above their heads.
On Tuesday, several Blackhawks players and legends made a pit stop at U.S. Cellular Field to celebrate Blackhawks Night as the team prepares for the upcoming NHL season.
Corey Crawford tossed out the ceremonial first pitch and was joined by youngsters Ben Smith, Adam Clendening, Teuvo Teravainen, and Ryan Hartman along with team ambassadors Denis Savard, Tony Esposito, and Stan Mikita.
Crawford spoke with CSN Chicago prior to the game about training camp opening up and expectations heading into the 2013-14 season.
"I feel great right now," Crawford said. "I think the whole team is excited for this season. Obviously, it was a pretty short summer but I think everyone enjoyed themselves and we're ready to get back to playing hockey."
