The Chicago Blackhawks released their preseason schedule and some training camp information, and they’ll once again be opening camp at their general manager’s alma mater.
The Blackhawks will open training camp at the University of Notre Dame from Sept. 19-21. It’s the second consecutive year the Blackhawks have started their camp in South Bend, Ind.
“We are pleased to have the opportunity to return to Notre Dame and their world-class facility,” said Blackhawks general manager Stan Bowman, who graduated from Notre Dame in 1995. “We received an overwhelming positive response from our players and staff on their experience at Notre Dame last September and are looking forward to another great weekend to kick off training camp next season.”
The Blackhawks will return to Chicago on Sept. 22, when the Blackhawks host their annual training camp festival. Tickets ($5) for that event will go on sale at 10 a.m. on July 18 via Ticketmaster.
In addition, the Blackhawks released their six-game preseason schedule. They’ll host the Detroit Red Wings on Sept. 23, the New York Rangers on Sept. 26 and the Montreal Canadiens on Oct. 1. They’ll play at Detroit on Sept. 25 and at New York on Oct. 3. The Blackhawks will also play a neutral-site game, facing the Edmonton Oilers in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, on Sept. 28.
