After sweeping their season series against the Oilers Sunday night, the Blackhawks return to the ice tonight to host the Colorado Avalanche. Catch all the action on Comcast SportsNet beginning at 6:30 with Blackhawks Pregame Live.

The Blackhawks weren't off to the fastest start on Sunday night, but once the second period began, their offense fired back up and the defending champions controlled the momentum.

After finding themselves in a bit of a slump, the Blackhawks went on to record a 5-3 win to sweep their season series against the Edmonton Oilers. Now they'll look to earn another two points as the Colorado Avalanche come to town.

Previous games

Tonight marks the third matchup between these two teams this season. The Avalanche kicked off the series by recording a 5-1 win over the Blackhawks, who later went on to tally a 7-2 win over Colorado one month later.

The Blackhawks and Avalanche will meet for a fourth and final time during the regular season on March 4.

Goaltender matchup

Both teams have yet to officially announce their starting goaltenders, but it's likely Corey Crawford and Semyon Varlamov will be in net. Varlamov's recorded a .926 save percentage and 2.35 goals-against average in 35 games played this season.
