Corey Crawford will get the start and the Chicago Blackhawks continue to weather some injuries as they prepare for their game against the Winnipeg Jets tonight at the United Center.
Forward Brad Mills went down with a lower-body injury last week, and coach Joel Quenneville said today that Mills “could be out for a while.” Mills had a severe limp with his right leg as he went through the locker room this morning. Asked if Mills could be out weeks, Quenneville said, “could be.”
Meanwhile Mike Kostka, who also suffered a right-leg injury and is also still limping noticeably, is “still a ways away,” Quenneville said.
Michal Handzus (upper body) is still skating on his own but Quenneville said the veteran center is still not ready for practice yet.
For Winnipeg, coach Claude Noel said Evander Kane is a game-time decision. Chicago-area native Al Montoya will start in goal for the Jets.
