Kris Versteeg was a late scratch and Joakim Nordstrom was in the lineup as the Blackhawks hosted Game 6 of their first-round series against the St. Louis Blues on Sunday afternoon.

Whether Versteeg was a healthy scratch or was ill/injured, was not known. Versteeg did take part in the Blackhawks' pregame warmups.

The move was a bit of a surprise, but not entirely. Coach Joel Quenneville had talked heading into Game 5 that he needed to see more from Versteeg, who started this series as a top liner and was moved down the lineup as it progressed.

In St. Louis, Versteeg talked about trying to not get discouraged.

"Maybe at the time, you get a little rattled, but you’ve always got to let it go because you know that there’s going to be a possible new opportunity to score arise and you can’t be thinking about the one you missed," he said. "You've always got to think about what you can be doing instead of in the past."
