Blackhawks-Penguins moved to primetime

As hockey continues to grow in America, NBC wants to showcase the defending Stanley Cup Champions and a perennial contender in primetime.

NBC Sports announced Thursday afternoon that the March 1 game between the Chicago Blackhawks and Pittsburgh Penguins will be moved from NBCSN to NBC and will now air on NBC at 8 p.m. ET.

The 2014 NHL Stadium Series consists of four outdoor games in addition to the NHL Winter Classic and NHL Heritage Classic, begins on January 25 at 10 p.m. ET on NBCSN, when the Los Angeles Kings face off against the Anaheim Ducks at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, CA.

The Blackhawks and Penguins are playing in the last game of the 2014 NHL Stadium Series.
