Blackhawks place 14th on ESPN franchise rankings

The Chicago Blackhawks' turnaround is complete in the eyes of a major sports publication.

According to ESPN The Magazine’s franchise rankings, the Blackhawks ranked 14th overall -- the highest among the five major professional Chicago sports franchises. The annual rankings by ESPN consists of the 122 professional sports teams in the NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL.

In 2007, the Blackhawks were ranked 118th. In the Stanley Cup winning season of 2010, the team checked in at No. 16, which was up five from 2009. From the 2012 season, the bump was even more evident as the team shot up 60 spots.
