The Blackhawks have talked plenty about worrying about themselves and not worrying about the moves that teams are making to contend with them.
But that doesn't mean they don't know what's going on.
Take, for example, the Blues' recent trade for goalie Ryan Miller and forward Steve Ott. It's a move that works to better position them in a division race with the Hawks.
Brandon Bollig, who the Hawks signed to a three-year extension Monday, joined SportsTalk Live and said he's certainly keeping an eye on the rivals at the other end of I-55.
"Obviously you don't want to concern yourself too much with what teams are doing off the ice as far as trades and whatnot. But you definitely keep your eye on some teams and wonder what they're up to and who they're looking to acquire to make a run," Bollig told CSN's David Kaplan. "We are definitely happy with our team, obviously the management is, too, with at least up to this point not making any big moves. We're definitely confident with the team that we have, and the fact that other teams are doing that to give themselves a better shot is part of the game and part of the business side of things."
The Blackhawks and Blues have two head-to-head matchups remaining on the regular-season schedule.
