Corey Crawford will get the start and Michal Rozsival will draw in as the sixth defenseman when the Chicago Blackhawks host the San Jose Sharks on Sunday night at the United Center.
Crawford will get his second start in the past three games after coming off a groin injury. He stopped 31 of 34 in the Blackhawks’ overtime loss to the New York Islanders on Thursday night. Crawford is 4-2-1 with a 2.56 goals-against average (.908 save percentage) in his career vs. the Sharks.
The Sharks, who fell to the Colorado Avalanche, 4-3, Saturday in Denver, were at the United Center this morning. But few, if any, players skated. Head coach Todd McLellan said he wasn’t sure if Antti Niemi or Alex Stalock would start tonight. Niemi started Saturday in Colorado but was pulled after allowing three goals on 11 shots. Stalock stopped six of seven in relief.
