Detroit coach Mike Babcock

On the two teams terrific rookie goalies: Give credit to both goalies, they were solid.

But then Neither guy has won one playoff game, have they?

Blackhawks forward Patrick Kane

We have 112 points this year. Its a lot of points and a lot of wins, so were not going to surprise anyone this year. Those are the expectations you have to face. And were happy that other teams and media, and fans, and everyone thinks we should win.

On whether he expects to meet Detroit again this year: Im sure thatll happen. Theyre definitely a force to be reckoned with.

Blackhawks center John Madden

To finish third in the whole league is good. Now the next season begins. Im over the loss to Detroit already.

Anybody whos watched hockey over the past 20 years knows that you have to go through Detroit to win the Cup.

Blackhawks Head Coach Joel Quenneville

Praising goaltender Antti Niemi: Niemi took charge. Hes showing confidence in the net, quickness and anticipation, size and presence.

Weve gotten a pretty good indication Niemi can handle pressure.

Another great Q-ism: Calling Niemi laid-backish, something that helps his performance.

On Colin Fraser: Fras gives us a lot of versatility and options.

On Troy Brouwer: I think Brouwer will be back in time for Game 1.

Red Wings defenseman Brad Stuart

On his game-winning goal: Hank Zetterberg held on to the puck and three Blackhawks migrated to him. Dan Cleary made a great play on my goal. I was wide open. I just didnt want to miss.

Bottom line is we find ways to win games. Its not pretty, but we find ways.

Blackhawks center Jonathan Toews

There are a lot of tough teams out there. In the first round, it doesnt matter who we playit matters how we play.

For us to finish the season 6-0-1 is huge but we hate to lose this way in our own house.

On whats different in the Blackhawks this year vs. last postseason: We know well hit a rough patch. And last years playoff experience kicks in when you hit it.
