Antti Raanta's getting the chance he's been waiting for since joining the Blackhawks organization in early June.

The Finnish goaltender has been adjusting to North American hockey with the AHL's Rockford IceHogs since the beginning of the season, and tonight he'll be taking the big stage for his first career NHL start as the Blackhawks take on the Calgary Flames.

With that in mind, here's a look back at how other Blackhawks goaltenders (since the 2009-10 season) have fared in their first career starts:

Corey Crawford

Team: Chicago Blackhawks

Date: Feb. 2, 2006

Outcome: Blackhawks lost 6-5 to the St. Louis Blues

Notes: Crawford made 29 saves and played in two games (one start) with a .878 save percentage throughout the 2005-06 campaign.

Nikolai Khabibulin

Team: Winnipeg Jets

Date: Jan. 27, 1995

Outcome: Jets lost 3-2 to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim

Notes: Khabibulin made 14 saves and played in 26 games (23 starts) with a .895 save percentage throughout the 1994-95 campaign. 

Ray Emery

Team: Ottawa Senators

Date: March 21, 2003

Outcome: Senators recorded a 5-1 victory over the Atlanta Thrashers

Notes: Emery made 14 saves and played in three games (one start) with a .923 save percentage throughout the 2002-03 campaign.

Marty Turco

Team: Dallas Stars

Date: Oct. 10, 2000

Outcome: Stars lost 5-2 to the Carolina Hurricanes

Notes: Turco made 17 saves and played in 26 games (20 starts) with a .925 save percentage throughout the 2000-01 campaign.

Antti Niemi

Team: Chicago Blackhawks

Date: March 1, 2009

Outcome: Blackhawks recorded a 4-2 victory over the Los Angeles Kings

Notes: Niemi made 22 saves and played in three games (two starts) with a .864 save percentage throughout the 2008-09 campaign.

Cristobal Huet 

Team: Los Angeles Kings

Date: March 14, 2003

Outcome: Kings recorded a 3-1 victory over the Washington Capitals

Notes: Huet made 21 saves and played in 12 games (eight starts) with a .913 save percentage throughout the 2002-03 campaign.
