Well that's something you didn't think you'd see tonight.
With the Blackhawks already on the power play midway through the second period, Oilers goalie Devan Dubnyk slashed Andrew Shaw in front of the goal. That brought on a delayed penalty, with Blackhawks goaltender Antti Raanta skating to the bench to give the Blackhawks a two-man advantage.
As Raanta left, Patrick Kane passed the puck along the boards to what he thought would be a fellow teammate at the point.
Except no one was there.
The puck slid all the way down the ice and into the back of the net to tie the score 2-2.
Edmonton's Boyd Gordon was credited with the goal, while Raanta did not receive a goal against for the odd play.
Birthday boy Marian Hossa, however, made up for the Hawks' mishap by scoring on the two-man advantage that followed just 29 seconds later.
