Kane, Team USA open Olympics with strong performance

Once Tomas Tatar tied things up for Slovakia on Thursday, Team USA came out firing.

Patrick Kane tallied two assists and his teammates went on to record six goals in the second period to earn a 7-1 victory in their opening Olympic matchup.

NBC's Jack Doles joined David Kaplan and the rest of the SportsTalk Live panel to talk about the team's reaction to their win.

"They're excited about this win because this was one of those games where you really had to have — you're playing Russia in Game 2 — you wanna get out of that pool to keep your medal hopes alive," Doles said. "So you could not afford to stumble against this Slovakian team that's given the United States fits in international play."
