In the wake of Nikolai Khabibulin’s injury on Saturday night, the Blackhawks recalled goaltender Antti Raanta from the Rockford IceHogs on Sunday afternoon.

Whether Raanta or Corey Crawford starts tonight’s game against the San Jose Sharks is still not known. Coach Joel Quenneville will address the media a few hours before puck drop.

Khabibulin suffered a lower-body injury in the first period of the Blackhawks’ 7-2 loss to Nashville. Quenneville said the veteran goaltender was going to be re-evaluated today; last night, Quenneville said Khabibulin could be sidelined “for a bit.”

Raanta, meanwhile, has been adjusting to the North American game and ice. The 24-year-old is 7-5-0 with a 2.83 goals-against average and .914 save percentage for the IceHogs.
