1. Quick start on the Preds: Nashville is coming off a seven-game, 17-day road trip — one that was not good to them. They won only two and lost the other five games. They have scored a total of two goals in their last four games — all losses. The Blackhawks want to jump on them early and plant a seed of doubt by scoring the game's first goal. Nashville played last night in Pittsburgh, so you should be able to get an early jump.

2. Forwards find time and space to do your thing: The Blackhawks have been lights-out when it comes to offensive production the last 10 games. They have scored a staggering 45 goals and have scored the second most goals in the entire NHL. Nashville is not the same defensively without Ryan Suter, and they can be victimized with speed and smarts. Get the puck deep on these guys, and you’ll get some good looks.
3. Welcome back, Kris Versteeg: It’s been a while since we last saw Versteeg in a Blackhawks jersey. He’ll add speed and skill and is a guy capable of killing penalties. This is just what the Blackhawks need, and coach Joel Quenneville will not hesitate to put Steeger out there in any situation. He was an ugly -9 with the Florida Panthers, and will be looking to improve in that area.
