Rob Klinkhammer didn't sleep too well on Tuesday.

The 24-year-old, who along with Jeremy Morin was called up from Rockford, was a little restless knowing he'll play in his first NHL game tonight when the Blackhawks host the Dallas Stars.

As nervous as he is, it was also perfect timing; Klinkhammer said his parents had just come into Rockford to see him play there, so there was a happy change of plans. His parents will be attending tonight's game.

"This is definitely a dream come true," he said this morning. "Whether it's a one-game stint or a week or whatever, I'm just glad to take it. I'll give it my best shot and see what happens."

Meanwhile, Morin was recalled after playing the last three games with the Blackhawks. Morin was also added to the World Junior roster for the tournament that runs Dec. 26 through Jan. 5 in Buffalo. Morin was part of the gold-medal winning U.S. team last year, scoring six goals and 10 points in seven games.

"Obviously it's a great tournament," he said. "Last year winning gold and this year having it in Buffalo, on home soil, it would be a great experience."

Then again, the Blackhawks could need him up here around that time.

"We'll see how it plays out," coach Joel Quenneville said. "If you ask players where they'd rather be, (the world junior tournament) is a good situation, but when they get to the NHL it's a pretty good challenge and chance to get to this level."
Hossa on IR

The Blackhawks placed Marian Hossa on injured reserve, retroactive to Nov. 29 when he sustained a lower-body injury in practice. Quenneville said that it was just procedural; Hossa has not suffered any setback in his recovery.

Neither he nor Fernando Pisani (upper body) are expected to make the trip to San Jose and Denver. Quenneville said the two will be working out here and hopefully ready to come back shortly after the Blackhawks return home.
