Let's be honest, the last week in Chicago has been pretty miserable.

The temperatures plummeted so far into the negatives, locals were instructed to not go outdoors for days. Work was closed. Restaurants were closed. It wasn't exactly the happiest time in the city.

Except for Warwick Cuthbert, who flew all the way from warm, sunny Australia for a three-week trip to Chicago to check out his favorites sports teams: the Blackhawks and Bulls.

Those cold temperatures outside? Those were nothing but a number for Cuthbert, who waited patiently outside the United Center on Sunday to see the Blackhawks take on the San Jose Sharks. Rick Morrissey of the Chicago Sun Times first wrote a pretty great piece on his trip to the United States.

Cuthbert booked his trip to the Windy City about a year ago, and a little weather wasn't going to stop him from watching his favorite teams play. But it's the next part that makes his story so special. His favorite player, Patrick Sharp, helped make the trip something he will never forget.

Cuthbert got to meet Sharp, who gave him a tour of the Blackhawks' locker room, training room and rest of the United Center. It was all made possible after the two were connected through the Eric and Kathy Show and the interview conducted with Morrissey.

Here's a look at his visit with the Blackhawks:
